UX/UI Design | Brand Refresh | Non-Profit
Okoa Refuge had an authentic brand mark but had not fully built out their brand. They needed a new website to replace their old, bloated site. While re-designing the website I took the opportunity to refresh the brand. 
I created three mood boards that leant into the rustic nature of their brand mark and paid homage to Uganda where Okoa primarily operates. The mood boards provided a spectrum from clean and professional non-profit to bold, African pattern. In the end we decided on a brand that incorporated subtle African pattern, bold typography, and a color palette that provides a range of options.
The web design featured a full screen menu that incorporated a contact form, interactive elements that helped convey the effectiveness of Okoa, and a UI system that contained content blocks designed for all screen sizes so that the website could easily grow with the organization.
The Okoa website won a 2023 Silver Addy for Consumer Website.
